Contraction Timer

Questions, problems or ideas: write to nossteam@nossdev.com. A person reads every message.

If you're worried about your labor or your baby, call your doctor, midwife or maternity unit now, or your emergency number. Anticipate is not a medical device and doesn't give medical advice, and this inbox isn't watched around the clock.

Common questions

Does it work with the screen locked?

Yes. While you're timing, the lock screen shows the timer with a button to start or stop a contraction: a Live Activity on iPhone, a notification card on Android. On Android, allow notifications when Anticipate asks.

Does it work with my watch?

On Apple Watch and Wear OS you can see the timer and start or stop a contraction. A tap made while the phone is out of reach waits on the watch and is sent once the phone is back. On Wear OS, open Anticipate on the phone once first.

I forgot to stop a contraction.

After 2 minutes Anticipate asks whether it's still going. Choose "It ended earlier" to set how long it really lasted, or edit any contraction from History.

Where is my data, and can I move it to a new phone?

Your log stays on your phone and out of backups, so it doesn't move to a new phone. To keep a copy, use Share or export the log from History. The privacy policy has the details.

How do I delete a labor I shared?

Open the Menu and choose Delete the labor I shared. Do it before you uninstall Anticipate or change phones: the code that deletes it stays on your phone.

How does the estimate work?

In the app, open the Menu, then How it works and The science behind the estimate. Every source is listed under Sources.
