Introduction

Night Owl Software Studios ("we", "us", or "our") operates theBible (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our App.

Information We Do Not Collect

theBible is designed as an offline Bible reader. We do not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:

• Personal identification information (name, email, phone number)
• Location data
• Contacts or address book data
• Photos, media, or files
• Biometric data
• Financial or payment information
• Health or medical information
• Browsing or search history

Data Stored on Your Device

The App stores the following data locally on your device only. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us:

• Bookmarks — Bible verses you have bookmarked
• Notes — Personal notes you create on verses
• Reading history — Your last read chapter per book
• Preferences — Reader theme, font size, and display settings

This data is stored using your device's local storage and local database. Uninstalling the App will permanently delete this data.

Third-Party Services

The App integrates the following third-party services:

Google AdMob (Advertising)

The free version of the App displays banner advertisements provided by Google AdMob. The AdMob SDK, operated by Google, may collect the following data directly from your device:

• Advertising ID — Android Ad ID or Apple IDFA
• Device information — device model, operating system version, and screen size
• IP address — used for approximate location and ad targeting
• Ad interaction data — impressions, clicks, and views
• Crash and diagnostics data — SDK performance and error reporting

This data is collected and processed by Google directly — we do not have access to it. For details, see Google's Privacy Policy.

Google Play Billing / Apple In-App Purchases

The App offers a premium subscription to remove advertisements. Purchases are processed entirely by Google Play or Apple App Store. Receipt validation may be performed by a third-party service (Iaptic) solely to verify purchase authenticity. We do not receive, process, or store any payment or financial information. Purchase transactions are governed by the respective platform's privacy policy and terms of service.

Internet Access

Although the App is designed to work offline, it requires an internet connection for the following purposes only:

• Serving advertisements via Google AdMob (free version)
• Processing in-app purchases and validating receipts

The App does not transmit any user-created data (bookmarks, notes, reading history, or preferences) over the network.

Ad Personalization and Your Choices

Ad personalization follows your device-level advertising settings. You have the following options:

• Reset or opt out of ad personalization — adjust your advertising preferences in your device settings (Google Ad Settings)
• Remove all advertisements — purchasing a premium subscription removes all ads and eliminates all associated third-party data collection

Children's Privacy

The App itself does not collect personal information from any user, including children under 13. However, the free version includes third-party advertising (Google AdMob), which may collect data as described in the "Third-Party Services" section above. Ad personalization is determined by device-level settings, which a parent or guardian can configure.

Data Retention and Deletion

All user-created data (bookmarks, notes, reading history) is stored locally on your device. You can delete individual items within the App at any time. Uninstalling the App removes all stored data permanently. We have no ability to access, recover, or delete your data since it never leaves your device.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected within the App and on this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
